National Cadet corps NCC
National Cadet Corps (NCC) Dayanand College ajmer

The college has three wings of NCC Infantry, Artillery and Navy of which cadet numbers are 107, 200,100 respectively. Out of the above, whichever student wants to join NCC Wing, after entering the college by showing his / her identity card, apply to NCC Officer- Can receive the letter. Admission to NCC will be done as per the guidelines of NCC Directorate. A student can pass the 'B' and 'C' certificate examination by staying in NCC for three years as a cadet. If the three year 'C' certificate gets 'A' grade in the examination, then NCC can take the exam without direct recruitment. One can be admitted to the post of lieutenant and other posts. The following camps are often organized by NCC -

NCC Camps

NCC helps in imbibing upon you the qualities of brotherhood, honesty, integrity, secularism, decision making, the training are not only meant for physical development but they also include mental and spiritual training, and thus making an individual a leader in all walks of life. Though joining NCC doesn?t make you a millionaire but you become more than that. It makes you a man of Values .The Qualities mentioned above are imparted through Institutional Training, and the camp training are organized to impart practical knowledge to the cadets.

Types of NCC Camps
  • More then 1450 camps annually at an average frequency of more than 100 camps in a month are conducted by the NCC.
  • 400 ? 600 cadets attend the NCC camp with Instructional staff comprising three to four officers and 15-20 Associate NCC Officers (ANOs)/ Permanent Instructors (PI) Staff/ Whole Time Lady Officers (WTLOs)/ Girl Cadet Instructors (GCIs).
  • Each year more than 8 lakh cadets attend these camps.
Provided below are the Types of camp Organized by NCC

Annual Training Camps/ Combined Annual Training Camps (ATC/CATC).

  • These are held within the State
  • These are organized under the aegis of respective NCC Directorates.

Centrally Organized Camps (COC).

  • These camps are of all India nature and are planned by Headquarter DGNCC in consultation with State NCC Directorates which conduct them.
  • the cadets are Selected as per the vacancies allotted to each Directorate. The following types of centrally organised camps are conducted.
7 NCC Camps Every Cadet Must Know About Them
1. National Integration Camps (NIC)/ Special National Integration Camps (SNIC)
These Camps are conducted to make cadets aware of the rich heritage of cultures that is the connecting link of unity despite the diverse languages, traditions and religions of our country. These camps are conducted on an all India basis with the aim of bridging the cultural gap among various states of India.

Total 37 National Integration Camps are conducted every year. In addition, six Special NICs are conducted in the extremities of our country at Leh / Srinagar (J&K), Dimapur (North Eastern Region), Peddapuram (Kakinada), Badabagh (Jaisalmer), Lakshadweep and Port Blair.

2. Leadership Camps
Six Advance Leadership Camps (ALC), are conducted every year, more then 1300 cadets attend these camps , in these camps lessons of personality development, leadership skills and orientation for induction into the Armed Forces are given .

3.Thal Sainik Camp (TSC)
Two TSCs are conducted at HQ DGCC Camp, Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt every year in Sep/Oct, one for SD/JD boys and other for SW/JW girls. 680 Boy and 680 Girl cadets take part in each camp.

4. Nau Sainik Camp
This camp is for the Naval Wing Cadets. Boat pulling regatta and sailing competitions are the main activities of this camp. 560 cadets attend the camp.

5. Vayu Sainik Camp
This camp organised for Air Wing cadets,it is attended by 600 cadets from all Directorates. VSC is generally conducted in the month of Oct and Inter Directorate competitions pertaining to air wing training are organised during this camp.

6. Rock Climbing Training Camps (RCTC)
Eight rock climbing camps are held each year to make NCC cadets learn the basics of rock climbing and to inculcate spirit of adventure. A total of 1080 cadets attend the camps.

7. Annual Republic Day Camp
  • The Annual Republic Day Camp (RDC) is the most coveted camp and it is the most prestigious one
  • it is held at Garrison Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt every year from 01 Jan to 29 Jan.
  • 2070 selected NCC cadets from all States and Union Territories attend the camp.
  • This campis a ?Mini India? in itself as the cadets attending it are from all over the India.
  • The camp is normally inaugurated by the Vice President of India in the first week of Jan and culminates with the Prime Ministers Rally on 28 January.
  • getting selected for this camp is a matter of great pride for a cadet.
Aim of NCC Camps

The basic aim of NCC camps is to carve out a responsible citizen out of a teenager by imparting quality lessons , following are some other objectives of NCC Camps.

  • introduction of cadets to a regimented way of life.
  • development of camaraderie, team work, leadership qualities, self-confidence, self-reliance and dignity of labour in the cadets.
  • to give cadets a practical approach of the things they learn.
Training in NCC Camps

The training is organized in different locations, usually the first day of camp involves inauguration ceremonies etc. the real training commence from the next day drill, theory, shooting, obstacle
trainings and Cultural practices etc start , the training also involves lessons like handling of weapons etc, various competitions are organised like Drill competitions , marathons etc. every night cultural activities are also conducted to bring out the hidden talent of the Cadets.
