Organization of programs on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Save the environment from getting polluted

World Environment Day was celebrated by the Zoology Department under the aegis of Nature Club at Dayanand Mahavidyalaya Ajmer. The chief guest of the program was Dr. Laxmikant Principal Dayanand Mahavidyalaya, who said in his speech that the importance of trees in the environment is important, without trees this earth will look desolate and barren, trees protect us from the increasing pollution and deteriorating environment day by day and also play an important role in preserving our religion and culture. It has become more important than ever for all of us to increase our efforts for environmental protection.

College Vice Principal Dr. MK Singh said that the use of plastic is destroying the environment and water is the most valuable element on this earth and the role of trees becomes most important to maintain the water cycle.

The Head of the Zoology Department Dr. Sonia Joseph said that to make people aware about the environment, the United Nations started celebrating World Environment Day on 5 June 1972 and the first Environment Day was celebrated.

This year the theme of Environment Day was Our Land Our Future. On this occasion, the department organized poetry competition, poster competition and rangoli competition in which the students participated enthusiastically. Simran got first prize in poetry competition, Bharti got second prize and Nitesh got third prize.

Nitesh got first prize in poster competition, Pooja got second prize and Namrata got third prize.

Varsha Yadav, Varsha Chauhan, Priya Nuvad, Shilpi, Shobhana got first prize in rangoli competition. On this occasion, tree plantation was also done by the chief guest and under the aegis of Nature Club, saplings were distributed to all the students and lecturers and a pledge was taken that they will take good care of their saplings.
